Moon

by V. Blake

i wanna be the reason
you don't give up on people
but you won't hear me complain
when i just narrowly avoid
destiny.

but sweetheart, i could promise
a thousand suns to you.

just let me paint
the space between the stars
unmuddied blue
just for you,
and i'll smile brighter than the moon,
or any of his friends.

don't let me let you down.

You know...if more men were as charming when they were drunk, I might rethink my aversion to meeting people at bars!!! *kidding* It's wonderful -and it is one of those pieces that will always cause that involuntary smile.

I love this little piece...drunk or not, no matter...there is a cosmic beauty it holds, and as I read it, I sink into the unmuddied blue...nice write, sweet little boy blue ;) jk...

I love this last line... "don't let me let you down" I could interpret it a few different ways. It keeps me wondering. A good thing for a piece of poetry. I like this one.
