Tempered By Love by Michael DefriesWe are tempered by love
Made to endure its scorn
And feel its fury. We live,
We dwell in the city run
The streets together, don’t
Recognize our power of -
Will - contorting to our desire
So be down,
to fall fast-forward.
Into the ultimate pit of Initiation
Beyond life’s demise and lengthy
Proclamations of trial -
and tribulation - testimony.
Eat the untimely-ultimate -
Wrath of love -
With your ill-tempered passions,
and your sweeping mannerisms
Make matters insane by tempting,
Teetering penumbra fulcrums
Of indecision with your wavering
Snap-decisions.
Eat direction chosen with mixed -
Emotions - and rest on tatami beds
Until you satisfy desire with corruption.
Find yourself defeated before
Smiths hammer forge your every-atom
Into destiny spears and dharma wisdom.
Eat one grain of rice per iota of sand
Until, you find your path again;
Lost under rocks beyond the bottom
Of ocean’s and earth’s grip.
Decide your fate; embrace destruction,
Eat fury and fire.
Tear out your heart, and give it full;
Sequester your soul to its origin
Place firm resolve as direction
and decision,
Announce your apotheosis to
Your nemesis; find your distraction
Then destroy your antithesis;
Destroy yourself, and become again.
Then, live, | feel, thrive - move | 10/16/2009 Posted on 01/25/2010 Copyright © 2024 Michael Defries
