Today captured the first
moment a baby smiled
learned, listened, cooed

It was nice to hear the
ancient communication
from within the small being

Sensing to see if you are
parent or foreign
smiling with omniscience

Wondering why strange
sounds appear with
nursery rhyme appeal

Familiar to voices
heard while sleeping
encircled within safety

Preparing to emerge
from the cosmic sphere
joining our world at last.
