Frigid by Rachel Bennettpaws bloody, teeth ragged:
why are polar bears only
quadrupedal people?
is it the raspberry on vinyl upholstery,
the tomato on sun-speckled wood grain?
is it our charismatic grin
as we chomp through ice from the cooler?
or is it something more sinister,
some heartless murder of our own,
hunting untouchables,
gathering underlings? 01/23/2010 Author's Note: Poem #23. These will get more bearable soon, I promise (please excuse the pun).
