A Bowl Of Rice

by Michael Defries

Whatever The Buddhas are
Whatever Dharma they allow
I transcribe:

Their Dharma Wisdom, The Volume
Brings truth to all.

Awakens all with butterfly transcendence
When they choose
If they want it, diamond cutters evolve.

Polarity mesmerizes like coconut strings
Wrapping this iota of earth pole-to-pole
Like gravity swallowing suns as they sit.

Birds fly toward repetitive nature chirping
Hawks swoop down like diamond cutters
Craving to feed their instinct;

Masters sit cross-legged while staring
At a bowl of rice wondering:
If rice is The Dharma.
