#01 (World War III) A Day We All Feared...

With the push of a button,
with the flick of the killswitch;
gather ye, ye huddled masses,
as you gather in fever pitch.

It's all over the news,
you can all see the signs;
something is terribly wrong,
prayers cast to the Divine.

At first it seemed so benign,
such a innocent little mistake;
someone went and bombed a building,
the straw was more than the camel's back could take...

A nation's rage as the anger grows
looking around, all they saw were foes.
Teeth clenched against the adversity
bringing about the end of prosperity...

The lines were formed, the polls read,
public opinions swayed those on high;
as patriotic pride swelled within the ranks,
corporations joined on in for the dollar signs.

Businesses were failing, the economy crashed,
fingers were pointed, the calling of the names;
as mounting frustrations fueled the growing need,
we found a simple direction to focus all of the blame.

At first it seemed so right,
such an innocent little act;
now Congress has declared war,
and we are spearheading the attack...

A nation's fury as the fear grows,
desperate to rush headlong into our foes.
War economy outgrows the collective sums,
plowshares to swords we have become...

This time, it's war,
this time, it's on.

A people's pride as the insanity grows,
public lynchings like the days of old.
Hate all that are simply within reach,
the things to our children we teach...

Cry not that the end is near,
this is a day that we all feared.
Worry not that we all jeer,
celebrate the day that we all feared.
