The Centurion Field by Michael DefriesPart I:
I flow as the centurion field across the wind
In the tall grains of wheat and distant avenues
of countryside.
Marking the vestibule my claimed territory
Until, no lions can destroy me I stand free.
I make my mission simple, in that, orders-are-orders.
They must be followed, they must be obeyed!
Complacency will be rewarded with death.
And you shall gain entrance into the glorious
Gold and marbled halls of our beloved and exalted
Olympian Demiurge sitting on Palatial Paradise Isle.
For your souls to be decided upon by judgment.
But today I am the echelon warrior blazing by
The acute trenchant of my crucible to your fates.
For it is I that will contravene life if you falter
And I will demand, as fates fall into my clinch,
When the King arrives, that then you may beg for mercy.
Benevolent behavior will win you favor. Yet, we will
Move, if you move to strike us, with your disdain.
For all wars will traverse these maniacal planes.
When we return I shall claim heralded victory
My many troops have recovered...deserve chalices
Thine wine, but as we speak horses flee firey spears.
As the time comes, we shall be but-the-nothing of history
Our pillared square and the Parthenon of our Goddess
Shall all but remain remnants of an esoteric saga.
Part II:
The era begins with death, with blood-soaked into the tiny
Of our boots, our fingernails, our sheathes house metal
From truth. Blood is spilled here today! Mourn for them!
In the night ambushes, we set traps, we bring weapons
Cached in our triumphant soldiers-marching-bellow
We strike fear into the last hope of man before slaughtering.
It's the day-break which determines the royal vigor of veins
As blood flow seeps the canals-of-muddy as grass turns rancid
Spoiled with years of memories, left laying-asleep, now forgotten.
It's the claim of our rise-to-power, our strength - we boast - .
This truth is unsearched, as we watch our foes wither-down,
As for this centurion field, it paints the trees with our ashes. 01/18/2010 Posted on 01/18/2010 Copyright © 2024 Michael Defries
