I sat quietly on the side
of a hill
The angel in my arms
Wings broken
Eyes empty

How do I save you?

Sometimes I talk in whispers
like when its important
that’s what God hears
He listens for the heart

What can I do?

Human imperfection can’t give a
blessing or produce a cure
As much as I want to
my sins amount to much more
of playing the devil’s game
than abiding God’s principles

A crushed spirit understands

Author's Note: 13Jan2023 - I just found out through text message that Ben Ashby took his life this week. The world lost a wonderful person and artist.
