One Request by Michael DefriesI am chaotic when I am away
You feel me, even though I am
At a distant place.
I stare at the ceiling, just thinking
About when we will be close
When I am home things seem calm
And you know if I’m near.
Following me around with your
Emotion roller coaster of a ride
Seeing how much you can take
The emergence of this fruition.
Telling you to be calm, be patient
Forget this though, talk about it.
So that I know your moments of
Lucidity and perception. Although,
Separated by mere vibration-rings
Out through our space, my voice
Finds your ear, yet my heart hears
Your truths, simple and serene like.
Pick up some sea conch and whisper
To it some home, in the sound of
Reverberations and revelations.
Timing such waves with penchant
Petrified wood and sandy beaches
Take us far from the reality of;
I have to wake up and go to work.
Placing you in responsibility for
Teaching your child to dream. To
Awaken from the reality imagination,
And go back to sleep, it’s just a dream
So when she wakes, she knows it’s real.
About this closeness, and distance,
They are not separate, or different,
But the same two truths placed in our
Perception of emotional responses.
Today find some solace, some resolve
To know that I am always at home
In your encompass, your encirclement.
That the days go by mean nothing.
The mere wind bristling past the lilies
And the rustle when it passes to alert
You of its presence. I make this same
Song with the smile on my lips shape.
Kiss me once to send me off into the
World to gather your flowers and fruits
See my deep stare as your returned
Affection and admiration, know me!
