Grand Symphonic Joy by Michael DefriesThe meaning of childish games
The ones we wonder about mostly are those
Contrived in secret
The ones where only the watcher is afoot
Invisible friends are the best times
Ones to remember
While we were away on our boat trip
The tide came in and found our wake
Bringing such delight to mountainous landscapes
Orange orchards bellow in the fields below
Yet we escaped the monkeys in the trees
By climbing on the safari bus under the wisteria
Whisked away in this satire we paint our story
Details of one time wondering if we need
Psychiatric help.
And yet there are those much more brilliant
May we imagine and let alone think
Today’s adventures can be chalked up to plain ol’ fun
This is the abandon we require in order to create
