Mimosa Cascades

by Michael Defries

Dance around amidst
The jubilated mimosa trees
Hanging swaying with their
Weepy arms and tall branches

We watch for solitude amongst
The oak grove field yet we seek
Vineyards of ripe fruit
We eat the endless

Taste the forbidden nectar
As your birds hum by
Watch for fallen droplets
Incandescence move your world

Eat peaches while hearing summer
Close by paint your vast heart
Into cobblers and quiches
Faint when kissed with serene

Only then can you know if
Silver Falls follow True North.
