Broken Blood's Hymn by Amie GoldaThis secret I know burns me from within.
Oh! That sight mars me! My heart bears this stain.
It drowns me, drowns me deep, this haunting hymn.
Innocence can’t vindicate silent sins,
Hidden ‘neath the eaves of midnight’s black rain.
This secret I know burns me from within.
Lost in a glimpse, the bliss of not knowin’.
This burden I bear. Ignorance I feign
It drowns me, drowns me deep, this haunting hymn.
An oath born in blood binds my cry so thin.
Silent I stay lest to me fall the blame
This secret I know burns me from within.
Whilst this dark trespass remains clandestine,
The faultless one’s blood soon be prosaic slain.
It drowns me, drowns me deep, this haunting hymn.
Blood tints my mind—soul no longer virgin.
Truth’s butcher walks. In his threat I remain.
This secret I know burns me from within
It drowns me, drowns me deep this haunting hymn.
