time in moments by Charlie Morganan example of cell development
is lieing in my living room;
he's watching The Letter Factory,
repeating, repeating, repeating.
and i am remembering, remembering.
deep down i wanted to hide and peek;
but things change as they are viewed;
quantum physics taught me that
and physics being larger than i,
i acquiesced; proudly held up his arm.
God probably realized a tad late; that
He left the 'playback' button on 'pause'
halting nearly all our human memories.

| Posted by V. Blake on 01/05/10 at 02:58 AM Exceptional concluding stanza, and a great write that aside. |
| Posted by Olivia Martin on 01/05/10 at 01:33 PM I love this. Although it was beautiful polaroid of this fleeting moment with your grandson, I must say it was a powerful reminder that we can all be reduced to simple cells, banking on memories. I don't have to tell you, but great write. |
| Posted by Alison McKenzie on 01/05/10 at 06:26 PM I am newly amazed every time I remember that the very act of looking at it changes it altogether. Unobserved, who knows what changes might come, and where would the memory be in that? Interesting write, Charles!!! |
| Posted by Michael Smith on 01/06/10 at 04:02 AM I always appreciate references to math and physics...
For me, the lesson behind this poem is grand and spacious, and it, too, morphs and moves while attempting to be herded in its entirety. Memories do indeed feel like you have described in your last stanza. A sly and enjoyable affirmation of living in the moment. <bow>

| Posted by Joe David on 01/11/10 at 05:46 PM Cell development indeed!! Yes, that and so much more. The perfect example of life itself in continuation. An extension of your life form into the future. Also Heisenberg would be proud, but that is a different topic.
Beautiful, beautiful poem. I just love it. I may need a little help with that last paragraph. Where is the Garthmeister when I need him. |
