love and haunted wanting by Cassandra Leighi'm caught
in rapture, fraught
with idle thoughts
that this, our shot
will come to naught
i'm not.
but lost and found,
on the ground,
i've come around.
6 feet down,
in this gentle sound
i drown.
my words are small,
brief, but tall.
and you! what gall--
that was all.
i fall

Posted by Michael Smith on 01/03/10 at 08:19 AM A mastery of language is definitely evident here, and very befitting of a poem exhibiting such boldness on both sides of the equation. The wordplay here is enamoring and proper for the subject matter. Very well executed, and thank you for sharing.
