Anticipation Of Something Real

by Michael Defries

I feel like I’m being

Given a taste of something
Real for the time now, fading
Crushing all hopes for the future
I am inspired to feel this entropy

This harmony becomes so serene
As we reach another precipice
We plateau in the highlands
At least for a little while.

I hear the sparrows
Chirping as if up on high
Gargoyles of buildings sit
Looking up I feel them sing
A sparrow song down to me it
Is the hope I need to live

Trying times fallen upon us
My belonging is at stake

As love increases
Exponentially
Take me in

Your humble
Abode I want to
Belong to your world

Find a bright star at night
I will surely bring it down
For you can become light and
Have peace in this space today

Discovery returned to satisfying
Such stability such certainty as

A mirror reflects in the void
Reflects tiny ripples of
Dreamlike states

Like tasting
Real for twilight

Pieces of a jigsaw life
Only sure thing is my taste
For you is the one belief that I
Know for sure when you bite me it
Feels so good, but it hurts so long and

As you pull me away sonnets can dance
Putting back all feeling aside until later
Bringing my volcano of love to a boil

High fever taking rationale input
Direction of devices straight
To my brain, sensing all
Chemical reactions

Of Craving More
Of This Drug
Chasing
The High of
Love and lust
Pleasuring us

The need for
Illusion
Now

Be.
