A wedding band hangs
On my key chain
Next to an Ohm medallion
I picked up long ago in Nepal.
The band has "carpe diem" inscribed
On it, and on the inside, it's in English.
It's silver, with the inscription done
In Old English, always facing me, my heart.
Sometimes I wear it on my right hand
Reminding me of a very different time
When I thought I was blissfully wed.
Though that time is long past, alas.
My band now hangs
On my chain, of keys.
