I Dream, I Fall Asleep, I Wake Up

by Michael Defries

I dream, I fall asleep, I wake up,
every so often I take a nap.
I dream about living, I dream about dying.

Consciousness softly approaches the sunset
Consciousness places itself on a pillow
Essence stirs about and comes around
Essence brings the stars of night to my
Awakened state

When the silence comes, I inhale, I exhale,
I circulate my inertia.

I walk a thousand miles, on the sand
The wave crash, finds an ebb and flow
The tree has decided to root in me.

Endless journey continual perpetual,
Source and the destination are the same
Every way I travel with my home in me.
