Moon Goddess

by Michael Defries

I cried to her, and she was there, as
I asked why and never understood
The universe (events) in this way.

My moment with her was so amazing,
Love existed and does still, so evident
So apparent.

Never mine, Love only exhibited itself,
Shared its emanation as she watched
I viewed her leaving and she was gone.

My heart became empty, as I cried and
She (my mother) was there as the face
Of her light shined on me.

Her brilliance never left me though she
Is always there when I look. She is the
Goddess of light. She, is the Moon.

She, is the Mother Goddess, She is the
Earth.

As I cry to her, as I ask why, she replies,
"Because I am your mother".
