one way ticket out of here.

by Kimberly Bauer

There is always Austin Texas
Where the bars line the road
A long last friend would welcome me
maybe there i could find my feet.

They say the grass is greener where you water it .
but what if I don't like grass?
I would prefer my backyard to be the ocean
Watch the waves, surrounded by sand.

Maybe city lights would wake my heart.
New York, Always exciting there.
I could become an artist , draw up a new life
And never sleep again.

Of course, I love to drink.
I could do it often! And all day!
And in Vegas they don't mind.
I could spend away every drunken penny
And no one think it a crime.

But, I have always dreamed of those small towns,
Where they say " thank you ma'am "
and "how are ya'll"
I could run away to Kansas
and find home after all.

This town has lost its color now,
I am growing tired of all the gray.
No letting fear hold me back!
Everywhere can't possibly be the same?

A fascinating quandry! Highlights the old question, does environment influence our state of mind or does our state of mind influence our environment?
