Pessimism is an art form by Kimberly BauerLaying still to avoid the silence
Tears held back from what's come between us.
ignoring signs of life to avoid the consequence of living it.
Tying knots around all that's broken to make it fit..
Set fire to the fairy tales that gave false perspective .
Stomping ashes, Killing hope instead
singe the leftovers in a basket of crooked dreams.
And they have nerve enough to say..."Just breathe. 12/27/2009 Posted on 12/27/2009 Copyright © 2024 Kimberly Bauer

Posted by George Hoerner on 12/27/09 at 10:07 PM I really like this a lot. And sometimes one just must "breath" to stay alive even when one wishes otherwise. |
Posted by Michael Defries on 12/30/09 at 08:00 AM "consequence of living it" This has power. There's more behind these words. People need to heat it...I love the way it makes me stop and ask what am I afraid of? Are we all afraid of consequences? Is this why we hold back from doing it? Living? Thanks for sharing this piece. |
