For My Beautiful Diana

by Michael Defries

She holds me with grace
The wind follows her eyes
It moves the mountains to and from
It follows the sea and the ocean

Her face so brilliant with wisdom
She shines so bright with light
Her wisdom shines through her eyes
Her nature childlike

With laughter and humor she is
A brilliant trickster that laughs
And watches as she inspires
A response so simple then
Smiles back from the heart

Nurture coming from such a
Small being inexperienced in
Life but experienced in nature

She brings thunder and lightening
Down from the heaven above
She watches the storm
The hurricane

Revelations arise in her
As they are realized by you
And we watch harmony find
A center bringing brilliance

We learn not only a child
We learn a valuable lesson
In the psychology of nature

A child is the light
A bright light that she shares
In her innocence we are born
