Green Apples

by Uriel Tovar

so take me out and
i'll tear
into the red
velvety background
of your life.
seems frayed and bleeding
around your lips
into
your young
tight
mouth.

i want to know
what is that light
in your
heart
focused only
on tears and scar tissue
flaking
into the palm of my hands.

my fingertips
always sank
into your back.
