if he gets up, we'll all get up, it'll be anarchy

by Nanette Bellman

the tickets for this show were all ready sold out
when we shook the hands of these people and called them our friends.
when you're full speed ahead down a dead end road
they're liable to pay more attention
because playing chicken just doesn't have the same result as this.

we all knew this was bound to happen. we all knew.
the "who", the "what", the "where", the "when", and the "why"
all had to be filled in to the get to the "how".

see, i've been known as a spitfire.
calling the shots, like i see it.
there's so such thing as bite my tongue to me.
i'd have to gnaw through it and bleed to death to silence myself.

not even Jerry Springer himself would have been able to handle this.
the way i went about it, it being this.

you of all people should have known that i wouldn't go quietly,
even though the thought of biting the bullet, taking one for the team,
having the right to remain silent, crossed my mind.
after all, it was you who titled me as an extremist.

i had threatened you with this before, the dramatics.
turned it into subtle sweet nothings i whispered in your hear.
you never listened when i screamed, let alone just spoke
so why i thought you'd get it silently, lovingly, tenderly...
that's right, i didn't.

and the time came, where enough was enough.
i couldn't bend anymore, i was broken.
i couldn't hide and i couldn't take back the damage i already did to your face.
i decided to light the rest of our so called "love", on fire.

so in one night, i gave our friends, our fans, what they paid for.
because it's clear to me, and a majority of the world,
that you're incapable of taking care of business
or finishing anything that you start.

...except running scared.

Author's Note: "don't you forget about me" - "i'm an addict for dramatics, i confuse the two for love" - btw, i'll show you anarchy.

There's something so bittersweet about reading lines that make me realize how clever I'm not. "Not even Jerry Springer..." Classic. And as you may know, I approve very much of the title as well.

God, I love the way things tumble out so real from you.
