"Take to the Skies" by Max PhineasI didn't go out that night
Didn't feel like enough of a hero to wear a cape
So I tucked it away in a drawer of masks
And whenever I venture to sleep
I'm reminded of who I'd pretend to be
And shove it aside for fleece pajama pants.
I vow to fit into that cape again
But each layer of dust tells a different tale.
When these wounds heal
I'll fly again. Until then
if you see me staring at rooftops
Know that I'm just planning my next ascent.
