Earnest by Julie AdamsI
from a million miles away
I feel my body
give itself over to him;
his will
earnest fingers type and probe
with questions
that tell me he is reaching out
for me
pain of the past melts into the hungry sea
salty with old tears
but the salt, like experince, preserves us
to savor what is yet to come
our lips pull together, two warm opposing magnets
connected across quantum oceans;
two lonely iceburgs, we drift into one another
and smile, like sunkissed icicles
***
how I twinkled in the cradle of his lips
before he ever said a word
but when our words finally fell upon each others' wide eyes,
I felt the piercing recognition
of love.

Posted by V. Blake on 12/02/09 at 06:30 PM This is beautiful. "two warm opposing magnets connected across quantum oceans" is a line I'll be forever jealous of not having come up with on my own. |
Posted by Ava Blu on 12/02/09 at 07:17 PM As Vince said, this is beautiful. It's beautiful just as it is, though adding more brilliance can only make it better. |
