Fractal

by V. Blake

Love. Violence.
Savoir faire.
Higgs-Boson. Apple orchards.

Singular fragments of catalytic minutia
that mutate and replicate outward and outward
until they are a geometry of alphabets.
And then outward from there until they are libraries.
And then many more times over until they are things like
heavens for us to vandalize;
dreams for us to plagiarize;
and eternities for us to spend second-guessing ourselves.

It's all mapped out, and it's all very simple:
It starts at "Here be dragons!"
and stops at "You are here."

Polymerase chain reactions.
Fibonacci sequences.
George Thorogood albums.

And people with silverware tongues are always telling you
"Well, it's a bit more complicated than that."
But that's just a minimum-wage condescension
because rent's cheap in Purgatory,
and chaos theory is just a poor rewording of a poem
that Loki scribbled on a wall one day when he was bored.

It's all mapped out, and it's all very simple:
You are here.

I enjoyed this thoroughly, every scratch and scribble...two and five are stunning, but all the stanzas work so well together, feels circular within the natural chaos of nature...the energy of the piece moves the words to a rhythm for the reader, there is a poet's signature perhaps...a pleasure, peace n poems to u, jewels

The last bit starting with "And people with silverware tongues..." is brilliant. (I'd say I'm already in Purgatory, but who knows.) On a side note, I once had a pet I named Loki.

I love it Vince. You've stolen my identity. We all dance upon our own stage looking for an audience for no reason but that we think we've seen another piece of the puzzle and wish to describe our perspective which may or may not have anything to do with anything.

Maybe Hell is really this life we're enduring. Either way, you've captured something.

"and chaos theory is just a poor rewording of a poem" ...that line just about sums up everything, ever. this piece is stellar and i really dug the build up to george thorogood. well done.
