While the tongue rested.

by Johnny Crimson

A pin drops on a noisy sidewalk,
the creature comes out of its cave.
Businessmen jump from their offices
with coffee stains fresh on the brain.

A friar is starting a brewery,
the preacher just married himself.
Elephants decorated in ivory,
stand tall above the landscape,
but the taller, the harder they fell.

She's all but whispers and secrets,
purity destroyed with her eyes.
I will wait here forever,
for a ticket to the carnival ride.

Circus clown paints on a smile,
but cries in his act every night.
Make-up won't cover the tear drops,
but these are the motions,
this is us following the light.

Don't give me your reasons to feel,
cause I'm carrying significant weight.
Heart on a pulley, help me pull it,
but it's probably not worth the wait.

I love this! I enjoy things I have to reread to fully grasp. =)
