Rumbling Red (a little revised)

by Clara Mae Gregory

tepid clouds

rumbling red

hugged the horizon

before us

as we watched

the winds wane

and the day dim dead

I stared at the moon

in your eyes

preening on purple

star speckled space

knowing I'd regret

tepid rumbling red

lips scorching face

"the day dim dead" -- That's just fun to say. I am probably gonna end up stealing that. Just thought I'd let you know. :-)
