Morning Is Broken

by Tony Whitaker

yellow skies over Pilatus again
Maggie arrives, climbs about
looking beautiful and misty
the only crisp part--that sky
frying near silence
where choughs await

now yellow skies fade
into blue beginnings
then choughs once more

Author's Note: There is something magical about starting out at 4 am on a hike in the Swiss Alps. Arriving at the peak at sunrise, whether you believe or not, there is a spirit that enters your marrow which feeds your soul.

Your description makes me feel the cold crisp air which invigorates. A beauty in the stillnes that I think aids us in seeing the Creator.
