Teen-Aged Angst

by Joe Cramer

Emily has such teen-aged angst,
Where to go, what to do,
Who is my friend, and who is not.
I smile, my simple smile
Knowing all the while, it will pass.
I try to calm her fears,
The best thing that I can do
Is to simply remain right here.
Emily suffers through her malaise
In this days of her early teenage life.
