Hoarfrost and Moon

by Wendy Sparling

jeweled prism, coned crystalline
beckon the Moon close with her sapphires
a biting kiss from Mother Nature's Hoarfrost

moonbeams undressing with craters
translucent caresses whisper seductive wiles
icicles form droplets upon her girth

Moon, desirously milky, inching landscapes
nearing this gem, opulent ice-fur glitters
anticipating her kiss

Hoarfrost, beads intertwine Moon's embrace
icy droplets form veins as stars witness lovers
while Moon's departing smile assures his return

Hoarfrost collapsed upon Earth's breast
absorbing, soothing Hoarfrost's
never-ending love for Moon

Encourages a new look at the moon. A new wondering gaze at that white ball hanging in the Fall sky.
