we watched it all by Charlie Morganwe watched the sun come up;
dark scurried off into the west;
Jesus asks God for one more day
for man. He said, 'as you wish!'
standing-up, i was able to secure
my place this day in the Milky Way;
i was also able to hear distant giggles.
my grandson leaped into next month,
landing in my arms first, changing as
he passed me by; held a golden ring.
carrying the morning in my car seat,
i drove us to Donuts...by George.
he becomes as old as we are:
and we become as young as he is.
then we both grab the kite-tail
of a baby day, growing to full.

Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 11/11/09 at 09:30 PM In the grand scheme of things... to be able to watch, participate and publish life's moments like this... so sweet!... I hope this is one you have framed for your grandson - it just radiates your love. Thanks for sharing this! Hugs, ~N
Posted by George Hoerner on 11/11/09 at 10:42 PM Bless you Charlie for finding such joy in your grandchild and giving us the picture of this fun and feeling. It is great!
Posted by David Hill on 11/12/09 at 01:26 AM I like the construction of this, the mention of Jesus and the Milky Way, placing us in perspective. I like the way the child inspires the man, and the man inspires the child, to enjoy the day.
Posted by Joe David on 11/12/09 at 04:34 AM I love it! Absolutely delightful. Makes me feel light and carefree - able to live in the moment, in this Eternal Now. I just want to squeal with joy at this picture of you and your grandson.
Posted by Olivia Martin on 11/12/09 at 02:08 PM This is amazing; though I'm sure "years" separate us, I still find great pleasure in capturing the rapid passing of time -- you do it beautifully, especially in this piece. Great job!
