Impersonator

by Clara Mae Gregory

the chippendaled arena

you call your life

was like chloroform

that stole my last breath

you looked up to me

to cultivate what

i considered as

crassly dressed crunk

impersonating the cravings

for acceptance

defining rejection

that exists in my mind

and buried

in my soul
