In The Forest

by Clara Mae Gregory

It's chillin cold
As we start our stroll
With you at my side
Locked arms as we stride
In the forest
To the wilderness

I laid down my head
On soft boulder bed
Senseless of time
Your lips greeted mine
In the forest
Bowels we rest

And by bubbling brook
Your kiss was all it took
To liquefy all my brain
My heart now your gain
In the forest
We found this bliss

Burrowed into my flesh
your love you relinquish
The chill has gone away
But no longer can we stay
In this forest
We're just guests
