The Sun Breaks Cold

by Joe Cramer

The sun breaks cold, clear, in early morning,
I want to be with you at start of day.
Just to kiss you, at alarm clock's warning,
To share how you make me feel in this way.
Longing to be with you, to lay at your side,
Whispering sweet words of French in your ear.
Such a feeling for you I hold inside
I long to tell you more, but this I fear
To place flight in words, drawing you away.
So much more to say to you, my sweetheart,
Such words of my soul I share on this day.
I have longed to tell you all from the start.
As the sun rises in far eastern sky
My words are yours, you need never ask why.
