The Poet's Sonnet

by Joe Cramer

This earliest morning I think of you
Waiting now for this eastern sun to rise.
At start of day, the memory becomes few
Of starlit nights that have covered my eyes.
To say that I have missed you is so true,
Missing the time that we spent together.
I am lost now, I know not what to do,
Wishing that I could be with you, wherever.
These times pass now, my thoughts are so lowly,
I would be with you now, now as ever.
Days pass now, pass quickly, and so slowly
Longing for you again, longing ever.
As this morning dawns, I am missing you
Always wanting again to be with you.
