Flowers

by Junemarie Roldan

The years have been so long and hard
I've cried a million tears
'Till finally I found You God
You've silenced all my fears.

Through all the years I've felt alone
I thought nobody cared
And myself I didn't own
For I was running scared.

Through all the years I hid my feelings
I didn't want to face
The cold and emptiness inside
This dark and barren place.

When I couldn't run no more
You stooped to gently hold me
And I became a child again
Who listened while You told me.

To love the child within me
To wipe away her tears
Her dreams were always mine You felt
To carry through the years.

She'll always be a part of me
For we are one I know
And through the years in Gods sweet love
Like flowers we will grow.
