dawn

by Travis G Finborg

loneliness just wont leave me alone
i cant bear
keeps calling my name
I will find my baby
before my sunset
she sits, horizon, slices

i see the dawn, as that sun set
a light without me
a limbo, gray-black, blue
stars sprinkle as if to give hope
of light to come

a moon, laughs, ha, i am not the sun
i am a dull reflection
a pockmarked, fissured, facade
embrace this silver light
for it will not nourish
hope for dawn
