Cool Change - Senryu

by Tony Whitaker

Leaves crunch beneath me

Wading the cool forest floor

Like painted snowflakes

Maple leaf fall color

10/20/2009

Author's Note: Just got back from a walk through the Swiss forest and the leaves are at their peak.

Beautiful picture, Tony! I have a maple like this next to my driveway and always look forward to the change of color. lol, by the time they change, I'm sick sick sick of summer. Sick. Their gorgeous colors deserve many an ode. Glad to see you write one so well. Thanks!

Beautifully illustrated. Fascinating comparison. Sharp imagery.
