Rs and Dreams

by Christopher Shin

Slide the familiar glass.
As the clear yellowish
liquor spills forward.
I wince as the pain
burns down.

She left yesterday.
Did I tell you that
she took the album
I enjoyed the most?

A soul leaves my
thought as she
the sapphire dances
away.

I chase the sky,
but find the lost
in the longing.

And the emerald is
long gone with the
last furnace star.

The long hope is gone,
and the crystal has faded.
Diamonds have died
with the dying hope,
and the last tune is sung.

The redemption is gone in a dream.
