writers block -- unfinished by Angela Thomasi'm having writer's block. you know, the kind
where you start writing and suddenly the words
seem empty -- sucking mere drops of cola between
crushed ice and you end up taking more air than
substance. how am i supposed to justify this whirlwind
tour, a trip to the entire west coast of my country,
days spent meditating in the grand canyon and sleeping
away allergies in the desert heat of a border town,
wine poured, swirled, sipped, and spit. gourmet delights
dancing on my palate, words slipping into a dark, red rock
abyss like the leaves of a tree in fall floating to the ground.
they no more subsist floating in the air than they are on the ground
in a pile of mush. 10/14/2009 Posted on 10/14/2009 Copyright © 2024 Angela Thomas
