Ponderance

by Johnny Crimson

The fish slapped his fin against the corner of the bowl
and dragged it along the glass during it's circular orbit around the world.
The water swished and some spilled out of the bowl and onto the yellow shag carpet where a grandfather clock lay dormant on it side,
it's insides out.
Strung about the floor are tiny trinkets of what were moving parts, just
stained memories of what used to be.

Kevin sits slouched over leaning against
the second floor railing.
He peers down with a dead stare, his arms folded
and propped up on the bars, his thoughts in another time and place.
