Dare I Say by Ken HarnischDare I say I want to hold you again?
Not to your face and not so boldly
I think
Until I get the feeling
You need to be held
You will tell me if the day
Ever comes;
I’ll be there shortly afterwards;
We are both so sure of this
We go on living
Our rattling, restless lives
With that being
One of its few eternal verities.

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 10/12/09 at 05:32 PM I love the last three lines especially, the stillness of verity, amidst the rattle, and what a verity... a consolation or a hope at the center. |
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 10/12/09 at 09:34 PM Oh, that's a dare you oughta take. There is a sweetness here, Ken, that defies convention. |
