the bottom

by Maria Francesca

I'm at the bottom so don't you dare
hold out your hand or make me care.

There's nothing left -
it's peaceful here
so don't try to move me to happy tears.

I've settled into this empty dust
I have no need to risk,
to trust,

to feel,
to smile,
to cry,
to laugh,
to break my brittle heart in half.

Don't blind me with your pretty sparks -
I'm safe and hollow in the dark.

Don't make me hope -
it isn't fair.
I'll stay at the bottom -
it's safer there.

Isn't it the truth, if we don't care we can't be hurt though we already hurt inside for wanting to care. Good write lady.
