this painting belongs to you by Carissa DeweyThe fan's rotating beats
hang with my attention,
here I am
thoughts wrapped around you.
These empty beer bottles and
my slight haziness taking blame
for this ache-
and my
numb thoughts.
Outside it’s raining and a cool
breeze carries aromas
of a distant farm
against my bareness,
keeping me dull-
still
and I feel like I’m a brush stroke
hanging on your wall.

| Posted by Shossana Dreyfus on 09/30/09 at 04:47 PM ... Gorgeous ... soft and gorgeous with underlined depth and strength ... I really like this. I may be VERY new at writing poetry, but have studied classics and know what I like. |
