unattended

by Maria Francesca

I've carried your luggage
til I'm stooped over.

I've aged
for you.
I've failed to live
for you.

And I tried to put your cases down
but you refused to carry them
and I knew you would miss them
so I just picked them up again
so they wouldn't be lost

but I've aged too much now
and my life is clean
and white
and empty from lack of use

so I'm going to leave your bags here
by the side of the road;

come back and pick them up
when you're ready -

You'll find them unattended.

...should be easy to recognize, it'll be the bags left unattended...a heavy existential pome, in that i see the narrator[you?]referring to her own abuses/lackings etc. and now is thru with that lil' girl stuff...at any rate, i like i like.

Absolutely so very well done Maria. Amazing how we can't get through life without baggage, ours and others we pick up. Life baggage associated with words that we rarely even realize. Nicely done lady!
