topic : give a finger, take a hand

by Aaron Michael

i'll take your digit and raise you five
just to feel as if i matter
and check again if i'm alive.
those whorls imprint and contrive
schemes or souls, most likely the latter,
pushing me to take the dive
to check again if i'm alive
or if i'm merely briandead matter
as those you court are comprised
i'll take that digit and raise you five
to show the world it truly matters
to push, to tempt, to take the dive
and show the bastards you're still alive
and in the midst of bonely clatter
you smile and flip and take your five
and run the world as if it mattered
as if it bled as if it truly were alive.
