i found you asleep in the sand by Desdemona Sinestra
the sun glimmers
like the venerable candle
in ocean air that breezes coolly
oblivious to who what does when why or
when i slit your neck
and peel your face back over your head
it's now that suddenly you remember
what i wore the day we met
when i kiss the pulp of your mouth
the enlightenment of dissection underwhelms me once more
09/11/2009 Author's Note: it's impossible not to be yourself. even the lies, the phoniness & the masquerades are all part of who you are.

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 09/15/09 at 02:52 AM this is delightful. i've never read your work, but find this colorful...kinda feels like a slow night on the hammock. with a few french kisses, perhaps even french people and croissants. either way, the imagery is sensational and the free verse flavor is a fine & fancy fit. well done cinnabun. |
Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 09/15/09 at 02:53 AM even though it's all quite negative in the end...i tend to block out the sad things. so yeah, it's still all those things i said. ;) |
