Rises and Falls

by Joe Cramer

It rises and falls,
Flows and ebbs
Until the time calls
Through, to the end.
As waves dance
Their way to pebbled shore
There is but once chance
And never any more.

This poem takes me to the beach where I sit and watch the waves roll in. I love the beach and this poem. Surprising combination of dreaminess and thoughtfulness.
