what i saw: an awakening by Charlie Morganopened the door, today rushed in;
i know the bug man is coming;
he's dressed as Robert.
a regular-man disguise.
my grass is still crying;
the mower is winning;
growth, the god of change
is already starting.
a centipede moves with intent;
from a distance he appears
as though he's wandering.
as a bothersome wind shifted.
maybe this autumn day was misfiled;
and is now back on the calendar.
becoming a slow boat to China, the one
that never lets retirement set-in.
a fly, i knew, flew past me;
he said he was looking for you.
i gave him directions. i saw
Odie: counting lazy lizards;
seems all is well. but then
there is tomorrow and the next.
lazy words carry a backpack
of meanings--many per head.

| Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/03/09 at 03:19 PM Well, growth will find me again, I'm sure. Many meanings indeed. I liked the parts of this I read in the poem you posted yesterday too, just hadn't gotten around to commenting. |
